Help Us to Help You to Help

There are many ways in which you can assist us to assist others.

Keep in mind that the best means of helping people arises out of personal contact---eye to eye relationship with those who are experiencing the unsheltered life. So we recommend the following steps:

1. Get involved in our programs. Participate in Wellness, Art or take a walk with the Chaplain or Chaplain Assistant.

2. Listen. Listen some more. Listen again. And then try: listening!

3. Out of your personal interactions with the real people you may find you have some skills or interests that may assist someone else.

4. Talk over your interests with the Chaplain.

5. You may wish to come and visit our Board of Directors to see what activities, committees or projects you could lend a hand to.

6. Invite us to speak in your congregation, school, Rotary, etc..

7. If you are crunched under the great wheel of Time, do something from your home, office, camp. Send letters, make calls, help us contact others who could help.

8. From all this wonderful listening and learning you might choose to contribute financially to what we do. You may find that certain practical items are most needed and so you can contribute materials.

9. Most of all, spread the word of the goodness and good spirit of those outside. The greatest help you can give is your heart of compassion, the story of your personal interactions with those you've met here, the enthusiasm you'll feel for doing the right thing.

10. Whatever you do to help is appreciated! Thank You!
