*On
July 23, 2000 sixty-five people gathered around the "Tree of Life"
planted in front of St. Raphael Catholic
Church (Fifth and A in San Rafael)
to unveil a stone with a plaque remembering
everyone who has died
on the streets of Marin. Over forty
names were spoken aloud and their
lives were celebrated with music, a prayerful
reading, poetry from Bob
King and bells. This living memorial is
a historic step for Marin.
It is a permanent reminder of those who have
not survived their
homelessness in the county.
(You can visit the Japanese maple in front of St. Raphael Catholic Church in San Rafael anytime). *Annual Thanksgiving Eve Interfaith Service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in San Rafael.
